Senior Rep

I wanted to give Chanel a sneak peek while I finish editing her photos. She is going to be my Senior Rep this year, representing Bonney Lake High. She is also working with me this summer as part of her Senior project. She is so sweet and I look forward to our continued relationship!

Bundles of Joy

Meet Frankie, what a strong willed little guy, even at a few days old. I think the UW needs to go ahead and put him on their recruit list.
Thank you Kamieo for being such a great Mentor! You have taught me so much and I can't wait to continue my journey working with newborns. What an inspiration.

Working with Brushes

I'm so excited to learn about brushes, really who knew there were so many cool things you could do with Photoshop. I wanted to share my first, "brushing," experience. Tada! There are a few people I want to thank for this recent revelation; Jennifer at Thrifty NW Mom
for posting this free class that has enabled me to work on brushes as well as many other techniques. Thanks Jennifer. The second praise goes to the actual class at Jessica Spraque. What a wonderful and thorough course that has been worthwhile. You should check out her course offerings, they are amazing.

Thanks Kamieo for posing this little guy, I loved capturing this pose.

Working With A Mentor II

I am finishing up the newborn Session from this past weekend. I have found that processing newborn photos are slightly difficult due to their skin. I had to remove a lot of red and found it challenging to find the right combination. I am in love with these pictures and can't wait to do another session in the morning. I will be trying my hand at positioning the baby, wish me luck in the bending and folding process :)

Working With A Mentor

I worked with an awesome photographer yesterday who showed me how to pose newborns. I have always struggled with how to position a newborn without them rolling, squirming, or sinking before my very eyes. It was really neat to watch Kamieo work her magic with this little guy. She did all the posing, as I watched, learned and captured some shots. I had fun shooting with her and learned so much about newborns, especially how not to be afraid to bend them in all sorts of angles. I have to remember that they are not going to break.

I can't wait to hang out with her again on Thursday morning to capture some more cool shots of a newborn. She is certainly a talented photographer and I'm very grateful for her time!

Urban Party Of 5

I love it when a family wants to do an Urban shoot; I get to go to one of my favorite places. I love the textures, colors and diversity of this back alley. I took photos for Adrienne and her family last weekend and as always they were a joy. She and her youngest kiddo are in our weekly playgroup so we see them often. Her husband is currently working on a landscaping design for our yard...Wahooo! I'm so excited!

I am meeting a fellow photographer in Tacoma today to do a newborn shoot. She was kind enough to be a mentor today with posing techniques. I feel like I have always struggled with newborns, and can't wait to see how she, "forms," this little bundle of joy. She is truly a talented photographer. You can check out her portfolio here.

Check out her Etsy store here, she has some really cute hats, etc. I just bought 2 hats from her and they are adorable. I will be using them at today's shoot so stay tuned for a sneak peek.

Fellow Photographer

I had the chance to photograph a fellow photographer and her family last weekend. Our sons have known each other since Kindergarten and they live in our neighborhood so we see each other often. Her boys were so much fun and gave me the poses that made me smile behind the lens. Thanks Jeannine for complimenting my work by asking me to shoot your family, I look forward to doing many more in the future!

Flowers For Me!

It feels like forever since I have blogged on either of my sites. We are finally back home, settled back in and now we can step back into our routine!
Below is the sweetest little guy, he picked flowers for me the entire session. I had to be quick on my feet because he would pick the flower and then run it over to me. Ahhh, he knows the way to my heart. Nothing like fresh picked wildflowers (or pretty weeds-but we won't tell him that). Notice the flower in his hand!

Cute As A Button

We are in the middle of removing carpet and installing hardwood floors downstairs in our home. We are hoping we are slowly on our way to better health in our household. With this being said, I'm slowly getting my photos edited, posted to galleries and ready for those of you waiting. I will be without Internet access from Wed. to Sat. Thanks so much for your patience!

I did a session for Sarah and her kiddos last weekend at one of my favorite Urban spots. They were entertaining and constantly being bribed with candy from Mom ;) Sarah made my daughter several pillowcase dresses and they are ADORABLE. I will be posting some pictures soon. But in the meantime check out her facebook here (yes I am on facebook and love it) and her blog here (click on the word,"here," blogger is not cooperating with me today). Her pillowcase dresses are one of a kind and very, "green." She uses recycled pillowcases she finds at various thrift stores, etc. So you feel good about buying her product and you know your dress will be unique in the fact that no one else will have one. To top it off, her prices are extremely reasonable.
Below is one her dresses for sale. Stay tuned, we will be doing a giveaway next week for one of these adorable one of a kind dresses.
Below is Sarah, I think she loves her blackberry as much as I do!
Here is her adorable son who sat so patiently during the whole session.
Thanks Sarah, I had so much fun and I wish you all the luck with your new business.

Fun Times

Seriously, it does not get much better than this. What a fun little guy. I had a session with this spunky little boy and his family this past weekend. He and his little brother were the perfect little models. I could not believe how well they did for me. Thanks Becky for letting me capture your family, you guys were such a joy.

Renton, WA Get-together

This past weekend we had our ILP (ilovephotography.com) get-together in Renton, WA. It was a lot of fun and we had a great turnout. There was full sun, which I am particularly fond of, but this day was a little different. I think the sand acted as a reflector and proved to be a great challenge for me. All in all, it was a great day and I look forward to hanging out with these talented photographers again in August. My models that day were Dany and her fiance Will along with their beautiful daughter Teilynn. Thanks you guys for being such great sports!
